Metros de Santiago (LNB) agreed terms with experienced 38-year old guard Luis Flores (188-81, college: Manhattan, agency: Interperformances). It is actually his comeback to Santiago as he has played here before. Flores played this summer at Huellas Del Siglo in TBS league in Dominican Republic. In 12 games he had very impressive stats: 15.3ppg, 3.3rpg, 3.2apg and 1.2spg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was named to Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Rep. TBS Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. Flores also spent pre-season at Plaza (Santiago League) where in only one game he recorded also remarkable stats: 37 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
In 2004 Flores was drafted by Brooklyn Kings (USBL) as #5 pick overall.
He attended Manhattan College and it will be his 16th (!!!) season in pro basketball.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Flores' team made it to the Mexican CIBACOPA Semifinals in 2016. He was also voted Latinbasket.com All-Dominican Rep. TBS 1st Team in 2018.
Flores represented Dominican Republic at the FIBA Americas in Mar del Plata (Argentina) eight years ago. His team won Bronze and his stats at that event were 10 games: 7.6ppg, 1.8rpg, 2.7apg, FGP: 45.8%, 3PT: 42.1%, FT: 88.9%.
Flores is quite experienced player. His career allowed him to visit three different continents, while he played in ten different countries. Flores tasted the life as pro basketball player in Europe, Latin America and of course North America. He has played previously professionally in Finland (BC Nokia), Greece, Israel (Hapoel Holon), Italy, Russia, Spain (Movil Estudiantes), Ukraine (Budivelnyk), Venezuela (Guaiqueries and Guaros), Dominican Republic (Indios de San Francisco and Leones de Santo Domingo) and Mexico (Ostioneros de Guaymas and Capitanes).
Flores is close to retirement age as a player. It's very possible he may end his playing career at Metros de Santiago.
On Flores: An explosive offensive player, great penetrator, with a leaping ability which enables him to compete with opponents very higher than him; great slasher too;.
